wow, is this thing on?

So much has changed, so much has stayed the same.

Jan 19, 2013
Strange to be writing in this blog after so long.
It's part of my life I will never forget; maybe simpler times, but certainly not as fulfilling.
I think of how much time I spent updating this blog and think is it really worth preserving history.
Sadly; I lost the online galleries on Nightmoves before '09 but that life was disastrous at times, because you didn't know what you were getting into, and you were inexperienced in the scene. Doing photography for the sake of getting into places.

Wow; the scene has really blown up.
I was thinking back to the other day; are artists.photographers ashamed or tired of their old photos, random club shots?

Anyways; here is a current snapshot of my life. :)
Dianne,Yoga,Hyundai Genesis Coupe,Sony,Moving this year,Headstands, Inversions, Reddit, Love, Life, Energy.

Going to the last show of IRIS - Cirque du Soleil !! Dianne my girlfriend, bought surprise tickets!

Happy new year!

So much to do, so much to see; so what's wrong with taking the backstreets?

I had a great holiday season, over the break from Sony, I had company in town. Kristin was back for a month, she just left. Already miss the old roomie.

I am really digging my new work sony vaio, its windows 7 64 and I loaded it on a Vaio z591.
Anyways, first post, first toast of the new year. I will definitely be updating this with what i've been working on.

We went on lots of adventures,
My friend Diana had some friends over for a holiday party.
Took a lot of photos, we also went to Getty Villa in Malibu, Griffith Park, the beach.

Introducing a new concept for this year's WMC, Hot Natured is about artists setting free their undiscovered house and electronic disco treats.

A rare chance to witness alternative sets from some of techno's most sought-after new stars, providing insight into the varying sides of their musical personality.

Guests already announced include Craig Richards, the legendary Fabric resident and Jamie Jones, the future face of techno whose debut album will be released this summer on Crosstown Rebels.

Also on the bill are Lee Foss, the Chicago-born DJ responsible for seminal parties at the Buddha lounge and resident at LA's renowned techno shindig Droog as well as the Droog DJs, who have been responsible for throwing LA's nightlife into the spotlight. Surprise sets from old school heroes are to be announced in the coming weeks as will the location of this prolific affair.

Closing the week's festivities in true party spirit, Hot Natured announces a dancefloor friendly assault and an evening of musically-infused revelations.

I've always loved how I run my photo-blog, it is very quick, concise and the quality is all there.
But, for the past year, I've always wondered if I should think of a catchy business name/spinoff...

Sometimes it's hard to remember.. or you could butcher the URL and never find my site..
soltis, solstice, saltis, whatever. ;)

kind of like chipa-topa-lay when you mean chipotle.. jack in the box anyone?

So, before Miami season, I will have shirts, flyers and free promo CD's from some of my favorite DJ's in the archive.
2YEARS later.. a lightbulb went off in my head.. so I changed it out with a CFL. ;)

and I am happy to announce

as my own sister domains..
same photoblog, same access to all the great weekly galleries.

Now you can say...
The night moves me

p.s. I may need some help patching together a logo from idea's flying around in my head...

Beatportal.com :Los Angeles claims USA's dance music crown

It's time to take the crown, to the underground. ;)
^ ^ ok ok, I just made that up.

As Hunter S. Thompson might say, Hollywood is a cruel and shallow money trench, a plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Ever since the booming 1930's movie industry, Hollywood's reputation has been double-sided.......

MoveableType 4.1 Installed...

Maybe I will be able to get some really cool templates now.

Anyways this is more of a test..

Weekend: Intitiated!

TGIF! See you monday!!!!

I am bored, or dating ideas. a.k.a. (stupidest idea ever?)

This is not a drag myself in the dirt post, it is simply a reflection of myself at this time:

Just to prove I am serious business and not just being a sap;
Lets start with Wedding Crashers quote:

Janice: I've got the perfect girl for you! Jeremy Grey: [sigh] Janice, I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there, you're wondering do I have food on my face, am I eating, am I talking too much, are they talking enough, am I interested I'm not really interested, should I play like I'm interested but I'm not that interested but I think she might be interested but do I want to be interested but now she's not interested? So all of the sudden I'm getting, I'm starting to get interested... And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door cause then it's awkward, it's like well goodnight. Do you do like that ass-out hug? Where you like, you hug each other like this and your ass sticks out cause you're trying not to get too close or do you just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all? It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while you're just really wondering are we gonna get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions? Perhaps play a little game called "just the tip". Just for a second, just to see how it feels. Or, ouch, ouch you're on my hair. Janice: Okay...

I got a one month free membership to eharmony.

Think I should use it? I want to meet women that are not crazy and like EDM (Pref. the darker side of techy beats and not fluffy fuckin trance)

Technoharmony.com? you have found a match..... yea, i'm hoping it works kinda like that. hah!

There's gotta be someone out there that is compatible with me...

Here is the way I see it:

Straight to the point: Obviously, we all just want to meet someone who is just like them and has to put little or no work into. 1. getting the person to like them. 2. share hobbies (although a little variety is nice) 3. click

Out in the club and from many months of constantly meeting people at Avalon; I have learned this:

I have no problem inducing conversation. I can practically talk to anybody! I consider myself a very social coma coma coma chameloeon. Its the majority of people I meet are of very little substance.. and it just makes me less inclined to put myself out there.

The people I do meet and practically love in every sense (personality, views on their idea of fun, attractiveness) I am not shallow in thye least of the sense, I actively seek out the most interesting, thought provoking, honest, caring people.. seems they are: 1. taken, 2. not interested in me 3. not attracted to me. 4. seem physically out of my social league.

On the other flipside: I absolutely agree that there are tons of people that somebody can click with, its just getting out there and finding them.

The types of people I meet out there that I described as "just like me".... (in a sense, they might seem like the right person for me) but likely that I am not the right person for them.. two way street? perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
The "social league" nonsense you hear so much about is only the best way i can think to describe those types of people...its not that they are "out" of anything, its just they are not IN MY LEAGUE! haha. ;)

To all the relationship pros out there: I'm sure even your spidey sense tingles when you like a person for everything that they appear to be.. and gauge them against a broken chart of ideals (in your head)

If I can offer JUST ONE piece of awesome advice: BE YOURSELF! I know we are constantly bombarded with this over and over, but it is ABSOLUTELY THE TRUTH!

If you are not yourself, your own "I dont give a fuck" self and having fun.. you WILL meet someone, because they can see you for who you really are. Everyone wears a social mask, its up to you to see beyond that.. not necessarily behind it...

Here's the thing. Every one of us have things that we believe about ourselves when nobody else is looking, nobody else is listening, nobody else is monitoring what we're doing. We believe things about ourself. We put on a social mask, and we put our best foot forward. We go out there and what everybody does is, they compare their reality with everybody else's social mask. And that doesn't work at all.

Do not pass go, proceed to opportunity ave. :)

See some of you at COMPRESSION tonight.

Catching up on my Wes Anderson

So, I caught up/rewatched all my Wes Anderson over the weekend.

While are probably familar with at least one film by Wes. If not, he writes and directs comedies with cleverness and melecholy.

Bottle Rocket - "one thing, you gotta get me one one those jumpsuits"
Rushmore - "I WROTE A HIT PLAY!"
The Royal Tenenbaums - "Somebody get rid of these damn mice"
"that's a trick question. you don't have a middle name."
"That was my mothers name"
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou - "I'm going to find it, and kill it" "what are you going to use?" "Dynamite!"

I havn't seen The Darjeeling Limited yet, but I would like to hear your thoughts. He was going for more heart in this one, and I like Brody as an actor.

I think I enjoyed Rushmore and TRT the most. Life Aquatic seemed to drag, but I like the way it ended.

I found a fantastic article from Onion AV:
16 Films Without Which Wes Anderson Couldn't Have Happened

The thing I am enjoying about the films are that they progress so slowly they you almost might get bored or lost right in a specific moment.
Then, once the story plays out into a musical scene or planes out, such as when Royal took Chas' kids out for some mischief in the city, it makes those scenes that much more exciting..

Or in bottle rocket when they steal the car, then it breaks down...

Even shocking scenes that only play onscreen for a second, for instance.. when they breifly tell how Margot loses part of her finger, no emotion....

I didn't not hate, but I did not understand Tenenbaums when it first came out.. I was only about 19 or so. So now, I am beefing up my Netflix with some of those 16 titles.. has anyone seen any of those? I gotta admit, I was never much of a movieholic, I havn't really heard of any of those.
