For this rainy Tuesday.....

I went to sleep last night hearing the rain pitterpatter on the pavement outside. Today it was still raining, an interesting drive to work as I saw some dead trees and a "Right lane must turn right" sign ripped out of the traffic island, some people need to drive better in wet conditions.

When I swiped my card into the gate this morning coming into work it was raining so hard my door got soaked! I think there might still be water pooled in the door handle. ;)

So, for this dreary morning I leave you with a wonderful Pink Martini song. Perfect for the occasion.

Pink Martini - Hang on little tomato.

The sun has left and forgotten me
It’s dark, I cannot see
Why does this rain pour down
I’m gonna drown
In a sea
Of deep confusion

Somebody told me, I don’t know who
Whenever you are sad and blue
And you’re feelin’ all alone and left behind
Just take a look inside and you will find

You gotta hold on, hold on through the night
Hang on, things will be all right
Even when it’s dark
And not a bit of sparkling
Sing-song sunshine from above
Spreading rays of sunny love

Just hang on, hang on to the vine
Stay on, soon you’ll be divine
If you start to cry, look up to the sky
Something’s coming up ahead
To turn your tears to dew instead

And so I hold on to his advice
When change is hard and not so nice
You listen to your heart the whole night through
Your sunny someday will come one day soon to you

Hooters~Football~Fun... Oh yea, teh b33r!

Tonight I went to Hooters and met my friend, his brother and his friend there. Monday night football; Rams vs. The fucking Eagles. :)

Rams needed to win this and they did. Here is a quote from ESPN.
With nothing to gain, Philly played prevent (injuries) defense Monday. With everything to lose, St. Louis took advantage, and kept its playoff hopes alive with a 20-7 victory.

I took a few pictures. I havn't hung out with Mike in along time!

On the way home it was raining like shit, I saw a guy hydroplane and put his Mustang into a guardrail backwards. :(

Today was pretty boring, I woke up at 2 o'clock and ate a corndog. I went to the mall and Best Buy to spend my giftcards. I p[icked up The White Struipes: under blackpool lights DVD and the Incubus: Alve at Red Rocks DVD. I also got a case-logic dvd case that i'm going to take back because it sucks. At the mall I went to Express, I got a sweater and a shrt, both on sale.

While I was at the mall Allan called me and asked what I was doing later, jack, I would call him if I thought of anything. I AIM'ed him when I got home and we decided to goto Corbin Bowl for a few games and some arcade.

On the way home, 11:30pm, I hit a cat. Him and his buddy were running across the street, a 45mph zone. I swerved and missed the first cat the second one got dead by the front of my car. I flipped a Uee and nothing's going on. It's cold, raining, and the street is empty. The cat bent my licence plate.

R.I.P. furry friend.

I had a pair of kickass Sketchers for about a month, I have since thrown the receipt away. Yesterday I notice that the sole is seperating from the shoe.

...meanwhile, back at the bank account cave.... financial times are tough.. DOODEEDOODEEDOO.

I arrive at The Sketchers Store: Oaks Mall. I explain to "some guy" who I find out later happens to be "store manager" that my shit is falling apart, this is my second pair, and I don't even run the mile or play soccer in them. :) (in the most non demeaning way possible, of course)

I get hooked up with a new pair! WOO HOO.
The store managers name was Chris also, must be a good omen.

Go me! *dances*

Buttonwillow performance driving clnic: 12-18-04

Today I went to Buttonwillow to drive the car on-track agian. The car was great, however the n00bs were not. I think they overbooked the event slightly because it was pretty packed and we didn't get as much track time as hoped.

The track was wet in the morning, combo'ed with a very big jackass in a rental v6 mustang. This jackass0ry cconsisted of: passing in the corners(big no-no), passing in the first session when passed wasn't allowed PERIOD, spinning out all over the place, continuously cutting people off. This fucktard was blackflagged over 5 times. They kicked his ass out and he is OMG ban-zored from Buttonwillow. :)

Foggy would be the least way to describe morning session, the track was wet and at some times there was heavy fog. We were all advised to drive very carefully whilst keeping out headlights and hazards on the entire time.
I got in some good laps and didn't spin out. I did, however find the best way to put my car into a full sliding four-wheel drift. Lift throttle oversteer with AWD is fucking awesome, I love my car.

As few sessions later after halftrack it was time for lunch. MMMM BBQ sammitches. Good news, after lunch the fog dissipated and the track was fully opened. It was great fun and I hope to go back soon.

Diane will appreciate the snazzy little caravan we had going on; FOUR 4-door BMW ///m3's.

The pictures are fucking doo diddly hee haw fantastic, I scored some amazing driving shots. Take a look.

Come closer; into the morning fog. (gallery link)

Hello guy standing in the middle of the street!

Lets paint a mental picture:

I pull out of the underground parking structure from my work at around 6:08pm tonight, and up to the red light at the corner. I wait patiently as cars start to move from east to west. I observe; "Hello guy standing in the middle of the street" Our subject stands in the traffic island waiting to cross traffic to dispurse; He looks around cautiously as his car is parked in the emergency stopping/bike lane with the OMG hazzards on. "I see you have lost a section of your bedframe from the back of your truck," I think to myself. Once the light turns yellow on the opposite end of the signal, the now missing bedframe sits cold and alone in the street. Now should be a good time to retreive the missing piece so that you may go on your way to a good nights sleep.

Meanwhile, back at the island; our hero steps into the street just as our light turns green. I am driving safely, obeying the rules of the road, I decide to let the friendly dude abide and rescue his rightfully owned property now occuping our middle lanes. The rescue ranger gets about halfway into the intersection when:

SOME ASS IN A MINIVAN BLOWS THE GREEN AND RUNS IT CLEAN OVER!

Sorry bud, your bedframe just got owned by a Toyota Previa!!1

Finally got pics up from that houseparty in chatsworth 12-03-04

Buca~Car.parts~Closer.

  • December 13, 2004 1:56 AM

Friday night could have been classified as one of the most boring Friday's ever. Except, I had The O.C. I sat around, ate a TV dinner and watched back episodes of on XVID. Chrismukkah is almost here agian, what a lovely holiday season, Jesus and Moses are on my side.

Saturday I woke up at 9:30am to meet my group at school to finish a paper, nobody showed up except for 1 other member (out of 3). We organized the horrible paper into something that is actually comprehensible. After that I ate alone at Panda Express; my plans were to end up at Shelly's Stero to give a few new A/V receivers an audition. I received a chuckle from my fortune cookie when it read: "LAVISH SPENDING MAY BE DISASTROUS, BE CAREFUL." Considering my planned destination I took the cookies advice and didn't buy anything. My cookie may have saved my life, certianly my wallet was spared thiat afternoon.
I returned home, listened to music, took a shower then met Rochelle, Friends, and Aqauaintinces for dinner at Buca De Beppo. The pasta was good, Happy Birthday Chelle. Then I went to Allan's house and watched Fear and Loating in Las Vegas. What a weird movie.

Sunday was car part install day. Allan came over, we installed my steering rack bushings. Then we changed his oil, fuel filter and wired up the antenna for Sirius sat. radio. After everything was hooked up we went to dinner at Friday's.
During dinner I got a call from David. Jen and him were heading to Regal to see a movie. We saw the beautiful trainwreck that is Closer. The film stars Clive Owen, Natalie Portman, Jude Law, and Julia Roberts. It's hard to describe the movie; there was lots of brutal, raw confrontation, something I don't see in many films. Some scenes got a chuckle while others got an eye opening wtf glance. Would I recommend it? Hard to tell, but lets just say; if you think Gigli could qualify for best movie of the year, I would say skip it. ;)

I have work later today, Hasta!

I finally caught up to my tivo yesterday and watched the last episode of The O.C. the best show in the universe.

OMG THE O.C. All the kids are hooking up with new dates and Seth put the moves on the chick from the bait shop.

I wish my life was like The O.C.

I brought the ipod in from the car.
Listening to the new White Stripes live.

Last night I went over to David's. We unsucessfully tried to add more RAM to the OMG Cube :( The machine is soo sweet.

I brought the firedrive and we swapped some stuff. He gave me some *goodies* and I gave some top gear episodes and more music. Remember not to interrupt a file-move process.

One of the goodies I got was the new white stripes live dvda, I am listening to that ATM. I want the DVD for Christmas. He also suggeted I check out the 808 state I have.
good.

That's all. Not much planned for the weekend; any idea's give me a call.

Signed,
Bored at work.
