100 women.

That is how many woman you have to ask out before you can say you've got a good feel for whether you're cursed or blessed with regard to the female gender.

100 women.

That's how many it takes to fall in and out of love, have your heart roughened and made wise, to learn how to identify closet psychos. That's how many it takes to be abused, do dish some abuse, to learn how to avoid relationships that promise to be bare-knuckle brawls from start to finish, to figure out how to build, maintain and dissolve both love affairs and friendships with women.

100 women.

That's how many attempts you need to make before you truly understand your own value system with regard to relationships, before you understand why you are drawn to some people and not others, what qualities you value and how to identify them. You believe you know these things right now, but you do not.

100 women.

At some point in your advance toward asking out 100 women you will feel discouraged; you will believe that you are truly hopeless. At a later point, you're going to start to think you're a player. At an even later point, you will realize that you are neither. Later still, you will realize that the women you've been asking out, dating, falling in love and breaking up with aren't players or hopeless either. More important, you will stop placing them on a pedestal.

100 women.

By the time you reach this number - and you don't even have to have dated them all - you will feel comfortable with yourself. You will feel comfortable with the female gender. You will have an inescapable understanding that we are all fragile, that none of us want to be alone. You will understand that it is OK to not click with some people - in fact, you will learn that it's even desireable to not click with some people.

100 women.

That's how many women you have to ask out before you can say you've really tried. Until you hit this number you haven't earned the right to give up on yourself.
